Chiropractic Founders Day!
Happy Chiropractic Founder Day Everyone!
Dr. Daniel David Palmer, a groundbreaking clinician located
in Davenport, Iowa, administered the first specific chiropractic adjustment on
a patient named Harvey Lillard. Dr. Palmer preformed this historic first ever
chiropractic adjustment with the intent of realigning a malpositioned vertebra
on Harvey to help restore that vertebra back to its correct position. Harvey,
whom lost most of his hearing 17 years prior, found that his hearing had
quickly returned under Dr. Palmer’s care. After seeing the results, Dr. Palmer
shifted his clinical practice to his methods of realigning spinal bones that were
out of position. This lead to a high range of positive clinical results in
patients coming to him with a wide array of health concerns. Thus, making his
practice grow and the profession on Chiropractic developed and grow into the
unique, drugless and distinct doctor-level health care profession that we all
know it as today.
Chiropractic is built on the recognition that the human body
is a self-healing, self-regulating organism. The study of chiropractic
understands how the body needs no interference with its innate capacities for
self-coordination, organized communication, and repair. The revolutionary
efforts that Dr. D.D. Palmer started in a time were deemed as an affront to the
orthodox medical industry of the era is now an accepted concept and credible
that is widely-recognized around the world.
If it weren’t for this historic date who knows what our health care would look like today, as well as what Dr. Bucek would professionally be doing!
